Jon Steadland, PhD
Chief Administrative Officer, Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain
Jon Steadland, PhD, was named as the Chief Administrative Officer of the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain (MIDB) in November 2021 after serving as the MIDB's Interim Director of Operations since October 2020. In his role for the MIDB, he is responsible for managing all administrative and operational aspects of the Institute.
Dr. Steadland most recently served as the Special Assistant to the Dean of the Medical School, Vice President for Clinical Affairs, and Campus Public Health Officer (CPHO) and coordinated the University’s academic clinical response to the Covid-19 pandemic. An administrator at the University since 2004, he has worked in the Office of the Board of Regents and served in the Office of the President during the entirety of President Eric Kaler’s term in office, including serving as the Chief of Staff during President Kaler’s final two and a half years.
Dr. Steadland received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota’s College of Education and Human Development. He also has a Master of Public Policy degree from the U’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
